Arwyp Medical Centre held a seminar on travel medicine, malaria and the legalities thereof on 11 April from 09:00 till 13:00.

The feedback received from those who attended the seminar was extremely positive. Representatives had been invited from companies with blue collar work forces as the objective was to encourage those companies to send their injured on duty cases to Arwyp and to introduce them as clients to the hospital, its management, medical practitioners and the facilities offered as an answer to their problems.

The speakers for the evening were Dr. Simmy Waner, virologist and travel medicine specialist who spoke on malaria - the disease, its prevention and treatment and other travel health risks, Dr. Alex Stuart, occupational health medical practitioner, travel medicine practitioner and flight doctor who gave an introduction to the Hazardous Biological Agents Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and spoke on travel health as part of Occupational Medicine and Dr. Wian Stander, Arwyp’s Hospital Superintendent.
