I was admitted to ward 12A on 29 Jan 2012, having been bitten by a venomous spider some days before. I really need to commend all the staff treating me both on the day and night shift. They were really kind and very professional, often just looking in to inquire if I was all-right or needed anything. I must also mention the ladies serving tea and meals for their real friendliness and kindness, always asking if the food was tasty, if I wanted more tea etc. Arwyp sent me beautiful flowers for which I would like to thank you- it was a thoughtful gesture and highly appreciated by my family and myself.

 

I had a positive experience as a patient and would like to thank you for that. My treating physician was Dr. Stefan Fourie, for whom I gained the highest respect as an excellent clinician and a really great person.

I received a telephone call from Lorna Limpiqlaw complimenting our casualty department and staff for the excellent care she received on Sunday night at ± 21:00/22:00. The patient used to be a matron and hospital manager herself and was really impressed with the service she and her family received at Arwyp after being shown the door by the hospital closest to her home. Well done! This is a perfect example of the fact that good service is everyone’s responsibility as you never know who might be entering the hospital.

 

And it seems the public enjoyed the Nite Race too…!

A trip to your local hospital is never a nice thing, especially when you feel pretty lousy. However, last Thursday (10/11/2011), I decided that I needed to see the doctor. My house doctor was not available and I decided to go to Arwyp. Got to the casualty and was greeted by the friendly staff on duty, the lady sensed my discomfort and sent me for the check up straight away. Within minutes I was at my cubicle and greeted by the nurse and doctor. He made me feel comfortable reminiscing about his trip to Mozambique while diagnosing your problem, explaining in “easy language” terms the condition I am experiencing. Yes apparently I had a cute sinusitis which I don’t find anything cute about it but hey it’s the humour in me. But I must admit that right throughout my experience at Arwyp was nothing less than superb and I wish to convey my congratulations to your staff. May I add that this was not the first time, as my dad had a pacemaker put in at Arwyp few years ago and the nurses at the time actually cried when he left, they were yet again brilliant. 
In essence, I need to say that the strongest asset in Arwyp is the staff and I need for management to recognise that. Congratulations and keep it up.

Hi All,  I just want to say Thank you so much ( to the Airport clinic staff) for caring for our mom yesterday. You were really so understanding and so compassionate in understanding our dilemma. We always hear of all the terrible things that happen in SA so I am so happy and pleased and want people to know that we do have a great country with a lot of people like you guys who care. My mom is well and will travel today. Thanks so much for taking care of her luggage and being there and doing your jobs well.

Good day, Very often people are very quick to complain, but less easily compliments are given when they are in order. On Thursday evening I was feeling unwell, and quite late my wife took me through to Arwyp for medical attention and treatment. When we arrived a lady immediately inquired about my well-being and showed me to the emergency room, unfortunately I did not get her name, so she will be one of the un-sung heroes of the evening. The lady that received me and opened the file was very efficient and caring too. I was received and treated by a male sister at first and there after I was attended to by the doctor. He accurately diagnosed my condition/problems and prescribed some medication. His manner and care was great, and speaks of his passion and dedication to his career and service. On Saturday already I was feeling a lot better! I hope that the other people’s names would be evident from my file, as they need a HUGE thank you! Also the facilities were world class. Something that you can surely pride yourselves on.

From Bronwen Lester - I was brought into your casualty department on the night of 7th May 09 with a badly broken ankle. I was also ten weeks pregnant at the time.  In casualty I was treated with care and compassion. Later I was admitted to a ward on the 4th floor.  I was immediately swamped by fantastic nursing staff. They sat with me throughout the night as I cried from the pain as I was not allowed any pain killers due to my pregnancy. During my 3 day stay at Arwyp I could not have asked for better attention or assistance.  FANTASTIC STAFF!! WELL DONE! The food and the Menu choices were outstanding and extremely tasty bringing new meaning to “hospital food”.  It really was appetising and arrived warm!!  I would just like to take this opportunity to Thank Arwyp hospital for the fantastic service received during my stay and for the wonderful staff members that they have employed!!  You really are a great Hospital!!

From Mashilo Mokgesi– Admission staff were so helpful and have time to explain or guide during the filling in of forms. Team work is the winner as every time I needed a team member they were available to assist.  Food was well prepared and attractive just the way I have ordered. As an individual I think that a clean environment also contribute to healing. Thumbs up! Just continue with your service any improvement will be extras.&nb
