Newborn babies, particularly premature babies, experiencing, for example, respiratory and cardiovascular problems, are cared for in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit. Babies born at the hospital are observed for any problems. Should these occur, the babies are taken to the neonatal ICU where they are given the necessary care and attention. The ten bed ICU offers round the clock nursing care to all patients. PDA sonars are also done from the hospital. These are done on premature babies to identify the nature and severity of heart valve problems. Arwyp has a team of multi-disciplinary staff trained to identify any problems affecting newborns at the outset. |
